Getting your steps up is often one of the first things a good PT will encourage you to do these days. But why?.

To Explain, lets first explain TDEE

"TDEE" "stands for Total Daily Energy Expenditure", and basically categorises all of the different ways our body expends energy. Because of this, we are able to individually look at this variables and make effort based on where we might be lacking.

"BMR" is our Resting expenditure and is influenced by things we cannot change easily or quickly, so for now forget it. However, The next biggest thing our body requires energy for you’ll see is "NEAT" which stands for "Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis" which is (you guessed it).... Pretty much your daily step count.

Now, the more energy we expend, the more calories we require. The more calories we require, the more food we get to eat, which in most cases is a great thing (especially if your goal is fat loss)

And this ladies & gentlemen is why steps these days is considered such an amazing tool for people who are trying to shed some fluff, because it allows them to easily increase the net average of energy they burn, & allows them more food, energy, nutrients, & minerals, while still being in a caloric deficit.

If you have any questions, or would even like to know how else to increase your energy expenditure, hit me up!

Bye for now
