Police Lights

Anyone that drives knows this feeling.
The more comfortable you get behind the wheel, the easier it is to let things slip.
Whether it's checking your messages, the good old illegal U turn, or running the light that we know hasn’t got a camera, it's often not until we see those lights 🚨 or get a close call that we pull our heads in.
We see the lights, and for the next few weeks/months we drive like saints.... Then the comfort & complacency starts to set in again. Sound familiar?
We do this without realising it in almost all areas of our lives, especially with our health
Enter the distraction.
Whether it's the new boyfriend, the promotion, the baby, or even holiday, & we start to let our healthy habits slip.
We know it's bad, we know how important it is to manage, but day by day, week by week many of us allow ourselves to regress despite knowing the dangers it can pose to our physical & mental wellbeing.
Then we see the lights 🚨
For the lucky ones, it's the spontaneous family picture, being out of breath playing with the kids, or barely passing the physical at work that makes us realise we need change
For others though, it's not wanting to be seen in public at all anymore, a trip to the emergency department with a heart attack, or losing someone close to us that snaps us back to reality.
This is often when I meet many of the people I work with, and yes, the saying "better late than never" still applies.
I cant stress enough though. That the further you let your health go, the harder you will have to work to get it back, so instead of waiting for them lights 🚨, why not start prioritising yourself now? 💪🏼
